Export PDF Pages as JPG Images

Export page appearances as images while understanding the loss of selectable text and the size tradeoff of rendering resolution.

Decide whether an image is the right output

PDF-to-JPG renders what each PDF page looks like. It does not extract only the photographs embedded inside the PDF, and it does not preserve selectable text, forms or interactive links in a JPEG. Use an image export when the receiving workflow needs page pictures.

Match resolution to the use case

The interface offers 96, 150 and 300 DPI rendering presets and a separate JPEG-quality setting. Resolution controls pixel dimensions; JPEG quality controls encoding. Increasing both can produce larger files without adding detail absent from an original scan.

For example, a PDF page 612 points wide is 8.5 inches wide. At 150 DPI its rendered width is approximately 1,275 pixels. At 300 DPI it is approximately 2,550 pixels. Page geometry and renderer rounding determine the exact exported dimensions.

  1. Choose the PDF in the standalone tool.
  2. Start with a resolution suited to the receiving screen or print workflow.
  3. Convert, then download the result before the temporary job expires.
  4. Inspect small text, page edges and the total number of exported images.

Expect different download containers

A one-page PDF returns one JPEG. A multi-page PDF returns a ZIP containing one JPEG per page, with page-numbered filenames. Extract the ZIP before trying to upload an individual page image to a form that accepts only JPG.

This is a server workflow: the PDF is uploaded for rendering. Follow the site’s privacy and temporary-file policy, and retain your own source and downloaded outputs rather than relying on a persistent job archive.

Check quality without confusing size with detail

Zoom into the downloaded image, not just the browser’s thumbnail. If text is unreadable, compare the source PDF at the same scale. A higher rendering resolution cannot reconstruct text that was already blurred in a low-resolution source image.

Troubleshoot rejected or incomplete output

Protected, damaged or unusually complex PDFs can fail validation or rendering. Obtain an authorised readable source copy and retry a smaller document if resources are exhausted. To export only selected pages, use Extract PDF Pages first. To create a PDF from images instead, use JPG to PDF; that reverse operation does not restore the original document’s interactive features.
